Event Description

Part love letter, part celebration, and all heart, The Great Canadian Diva Show shines a spotlight on the iconic female singers who helped define Canada’s musical landscape. With powerhouse vocals, humour, warmth, and Wilson’s signature theatrical charm, the show honours the voices of extraordinary Canadian women while inviting audiences to laugh, sing along, and maybe even learn something new.

Wilson, an acclaimed actor, singer, writer, and creator, developed the show out of her own admiration for the Canadian artists who influenced her as a performer. Time and again, she found herself surprised that many people did not realize just how many beloved singers were Canadian.

“I created this show because I genuinely love these artists and the incredible women behind the music,” says Wilson. “I’m always amazed when people say, ‘Wait — she’s Canadian?’ This show is my way of celebrating those voices, sharing that pride, and creating a joyful experience audiences can really connect with.”

In addition to unforgettable musical performances, The Great Canadian Diva Show includes pre-show and intermission slides that highlight remarkable women who helped shape Canada’s history. Audience members can also access a corresponding online presentation to learn more about these trailblazing women beyond the performance itself, adding an engaging and meaningful “Her-story” element to the evening.

The result is a show that blends entertainment and inspiration with a generous dose of fun. Whether audiences come for the music, the laughter, the nostalgia, or the stories behind the songs, they can expect an uplifting theatrical experience that celebrates talent, resilience, and the women who helped shape a nation.

Performing with Wilson are “Hot Fingers Wilson” and “Bob the Stage Manager,” also known as Molly’s real-life parents, Debbie and Robert Wilson, whose theatrical flair and comic presence add even more sparkle to the production.

Originally from Chilliwack, British Columbia, Wilson studied musical theatre at Grant MacEwan University and has performed across Canada, the United States, and the UK. Known for her exceptional vocals, comedic timing, and ability to connect with audiences, she creates shows that are joyful, inclusive, and full of personality.
