Event Description

Calling all theatre lovers for an evening of locally written one acts that were Edmonton Fringe successes! The Edmonton Fringe Festival is a renowned theatre festival that attracts artists from all over the world. We are showcasing two plays that were adored with accolades at this festival in years past! It’s Red Deer’s own Taste of the Fringe.

Mark your calendars for April 4,5,6,8,10,12 for a 7pm evening show and April 12th for a 2pm matinee. Join us for a show that has two quirky stories that will have you laughing, and feeling all the emotions and then laughing again.

Performances all held at the Scott Block Theatre. (4816 Gaetz Ave W, Red Deer)

Our second show of our 2025 season is showcasing our professional and talented Central Alberta writers, performers, directors, and designers! The arts are alive and thriving in Red Deer.

The “Thin Grey Line” features three over-the-hill actors backstage during the closing night performance of a less than stellar play and Sybil, the young assistant stage manager with the unenviable task of getting them on stage on time and in the right costumes.Whether they will remember their lines is another matter, completely out of her hands and is anyone’s guess!

In the middle of giving a Ted Talk on the Mislabeling of the heart and where our emotions really come from; Rose's own emotions get personified into Ganglia; that chaotically beautiful voice inside our heads; and chaos ensues.  There’s a brilliant mix of energy, hilarity, creativity and heart are all wrapped up in this joyful little play, “Thank you for Coming To My Ted Talk.”

The bar will be open to to wet your whistle and a few delicious snacks will be available to refuel you between the two one hour shows.
