Event Description

The Red Deer Arts Council is joining the global celebration of millinery called the World Hat Walk! Red Deer’s inaugural Hat Parade is a free community event on April 26th, 2025, meeting at 12pm at City Hall Park for photos and meetups, with a tea party following the walk at the Scott Block Theatre.

Hat lovers in cities around the world will take to the streets for the second World Hat Walk, showcasing creativity, craftsmanship, and community. From professional milliners and vintage fashion aficionados to cosplayers, collectors, and even hat-wearing pets, this event is an open invitation to all who share a love for headwear. (Only service animals may attend the tea party.)

Participation is free and World Hat Walk events are designed for fun and socialising rather than speed or distance. Red Deer Arts Council, our local organiser sets the routes, ensuring each walk reflects the unique character of its host city while bringing people together to admire fabulous hats, make new friends, and celebrate the artistry of millinery.

About World Hat Walk

World Hat Walk was launched in 2024 by Becky Weaver and Georgina Abbott to bring together the hat community. They have both been working in the industry over two decades to support milliners, hat lovers, and fashion enthusiasts through events, networking, and education.

World Hat Walk aims to uplift and showcase independent designers, many of whom are women-led businesses, as well as suppliers, retailers, and educators who contribute to the thriving world of hat-making.

Join us for World Hat Walk 2025 and be part of a truly global hat-loving community. Grab your most fabulous hat, gather your friends, and let’s walk the world in style!
