Event Description
Secondhand Dreamcar, an explosive soul/roots/blues band from Edmonton, is a true superband – a consummate constellation of Canadian music veterans who have worked on some of the finest jazz, funk, folk, soul, and blues projects ever created in Alberta – and they are bringing their live show to Red Deer. Collectively, they craft a distinct, funky, and lyrically-driven sound that journalist and programmer Peter North called the most exciting thing to come out of the city since k.d. lang and the Reclines.
A CKUA Radio favourite, Secondhand Dreamcar’s debut album Answer The Call was its 6th most played album of 2024, and in 2025 the band became instant Alberta festival favourites, tearing up the stages at Edmonton’s and Calgary’s International Blues Festivals, and the Edmonton Folk Festival, among others. The Dreamcar has started off 2026 right, receiving three Canadian Blues Music Awards nominations and a JUNO nomination for Blues Album of the Year. Their second album will be released in the fall.
