Event Description

Part of the Active Library: Free Try-It Wellness Series.

Cosponsored by Red Deer Association for Bicycle Commuting

This practical cycling activation day reduces barriers to active transportation and helps families prepare for the summer cycling season. Participants will receive free basic bike tune-ups, tire checks, chain cleaning, and safety advice. Local bike shop partners will offer short workshops on saddle, handlebar, and frame adjustments.

Additional activities include:

  • Bike rodeo stations for children and adults alike
  • Short bike ride route around the Dawe Centre on a protected trail
  • A free adult bike draw (in partnership with the Optimist Club)
  • Promotional support for the 2026 ParticipACTION Community Challenge
  • Information about the library’s summer Fancy Women Bike Rides

This event serves as an initial activation opportunity for anyone wanting to start or return to biking in an accessible and supportive environment.
