Event Description
Red Deer Fish and Game Association is hosting Fishing Day-Kids Can Catch on Saturday June 20 at Bower Ponds. The event is open to the community and free to attend. We have been able to stock Rainbow Trout and host this Fishing Day for the first time since 2006 floods.
The day begins with pancake breakfast 0800-1000 AM and the fishing day portion 1000 AM-300 PM. Fishing Day will have fishing mentors and equipment loaners/prizes, plus there will be various conservation groups with displays and presentations on the outdoors, angling, conservation and invasive species. People can attend the information sessions without needing to fish.
Hoping to see as many people as possible to engage with our outdoors. Fishing regulations in place - everyone 16 years and older requires appropriate fishing licence that can be purchased from your smartphone if required.
