Event Description

In 2026, breast cancer is expected to account for over 25% of new cancer cases in women – a reminder of how much works remain and why we must act now. With 1 in 8 women expected to face a diagnosis in their lifetime, breast cancer affects us all. This year, the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is celebrating 35 years of bringing community, connection and hope to thousands of people across the country who have been affected by breast cancer.

On Sunday, October 4, we’re inviting residents of all ages in the Red Deer area to join us at Bower Ponds to run or walk either 1 km or 5 km, in support of the breast cancer cause. Registration is now open, and participants can choose to fundraise individually or as part of a team.

The Run is one powerful day of action – but the impact lasts far beyond. Because of funds raised through the CIBC Run for the Cure and decades of progress, breast cancer survival rates continue to rise. But more still needs to be done. Funds enable us to invest in the most promising breast cancer research, provide a nationwide compassionate support system, and continue to champion healthy public policies to prevent breast cancer and create a healthier future for everyone. Now more than ever, we need your support. When we act together, we can save lives, improve lives and drive collective action against breast cancer.

Join us and be part of a movement of hope in Red Deer. Register and start fundraising today. For more information or to register visit cibcrunforthecure.com
