Event Description
Red Deer Day of Football Brings Community Together — and Tackles Hunger
Football, Food, Family and a Food Bank Challenge set for Saturday, September 12 at Setters Place
RED DEER, AB — September 10, 2026 — Red Deer Minor Football is bringing the community together for a full day of football, family fun and community spirit on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Setters Place at Great Chief Park.
Red Deer Day of Football will showcase local football from the youngest players to the Peewee level, while putting a special focus on giving back to the community through the Foodbank Challenge.
The event kicks off with an Atom Jamboree from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., featuring the Armour Tools Bucks, Kinsmen Bucks, Rocky Rams and Stettler Bobcats.
The afternoon continues with Peewee Football from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., as the Jiffy Lube Bucks take on the Ponoka Broncos.
Fans are encouraged to make a difference by bringing non-perishable food donations to the game. Donations will be collected and counted as part of a friendly competition between Red Deer supporters and visiting fans.
Every item donated helps. Every team can make a difference.
Football is about community, teamwork and tradition, and the Foodbank Challenge is a great example of those values in action, “We want to fill the stands, fill the sidelines and, most importantly, fill the food bank shelves.”
