Art in the AM: Beautiful Belcourt

If you look up Pointillism art, you're going to find a lot of work by Georges Seurat and Paul Signac; today we're looking at work by a modern Canadian artist Christi Belcourt. She is a Canadian Métis artist, known for her pointillist work that depicts floral patterns inspired by Métis and First Nations historical beadwork art. Today is an exciting opportunity to try your hand at pointillism and have a look at our exhibit Hiding in Plain Sight: Discovering the Métis Nation in the Archival Records of Library and Archives Canada! note: this activity is listed as "Pointillist Bead Work: Inspired by Christi Belcourt" in our printed calendar of events. Reminisce, Socialize, Create Art in the AM is a facilitated program for people with memory issues and their care partners. The program runs the Third Tuesday of every month from September 2018 until June 2019, 10-11:30 AM. DROP-IN COST: $4 per pair for MAG Members; $5 per pair for Non-Members No pre-registration required. For more information please contact the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery's Front Desk at 403.309.8405.
