Are you interested in learning more about your family history? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Alberta Genealogical Society Red Deer Branch are hosting a FREE Family History Fair on Saturday April 27, 2024 from 8:30 to 4:00 pm. Doors open at 8:15 am. There are sessions to help you learn how to do family history in a variety of ways for the beginner and those with some experience.
The event is FREE but registration in required. The event will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3002 47 Ave Red Deer.

St. Luke's Anglican Church in Red Deer is hosting a Spring Tea and Sale on Saturday April 27th from 11:00 to 1:30. The Tea includes a light luncheon of sandwiches and goodies (free will offering) and the Sale includes baking, plants and gently used items.

May 2024Citizen Science Butterfly Count Training
Join Dr. Delano Lewis's Butterfly Species Count project at Ellis Nature Centre. Dr. Lewis from Burman University is reaching out to Central Albertans to assist in this Citizen Science project. The training session will help you learn how to identify butterflies and conduct the butterfly counts. Butterfly count volunteers will conduct 1 hour butterfly counts throughout the summer at ENC, adding essential data to this multi-year project. Training sessions are free and refreshments will be served.
